The Medicare Annual Election Period (AEP), which occurs each year, is from Oct. 15 to Dec. 7, giving you a chance to review and make changes to your current Medicare coverage.

If this is your first time enrolling in Medicare, then this workshop is for you. Selecting the right Medicare option for you can be very convoluted with all the information thrown at you.

The most overlooked item is that Medicare, Original Medicare Part A & B, is actual health insurance. You can administer their health insurance benefits directly through Medicare, using Medicare as their insurance company. This option has many benefits, primarily the network of providers available. It is important to set Medicare up correctly. You can have a solid plan with very little cost exposure and many provider choices if you know the pros and cons. Knowing the difference between Original Medicare and Medicare Advantage is vital in selecting the correct plan for you.
